Feel good about your kid’s bed frame. A lot of furniture is mass-made with cheap particle board or synthetic laminates. Each piece looks exactly the same. That's not how we do things at Avocado. We individually handcraft all our furniture with 100% solid, FSC®-certified wood. It costs a little more to do things this way. But our customers love having unique, durable, thoughtfully crafted furniture that will last generations. We build our Kids Trundle Bed with 100% domestically-sourced beechwood and finish it with a zero-VOC varnish. Versatile and space-efficient, our Twin Trundle can be used for under-bed storage, a sleepover pullout, or as an extra bed in the house that doesn’t require additional space. Fits with our twin size Eco Organic Kids Mattress or twin mattresses that don’t exceed 7 inches tall.
Our Kids Trundle Bed is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and Formaldehyde Free Claim Validated by UL Environment. Formaldehyde is a colorless, flammable, odorous chemical used in building materials and to produce many household products, including furniture. The EPA considers it a probable human carcinogen, and it has been linked to asthma, allergies, and lung, nose, and throat cancers. For assurance, our Kids Trundle Bed has been lab-tested in environmental chambers and validated by UL Environment to be free even from Formaldehyde, common in stains and glues. Few, if any, pieces of kids room furniture qualify for both of these gold standards.
No fiberboard. No wood veneers. We craft our Kids Trundle Bed from 100% solid beechwood, a sustainable hardwood that we source domestically. Even the slats are made from 100% solid FSC® certified (C156318) pine.
Our Kids Bed Frame comes with the twin trundle addition. The twin trundle bed is ideal whenever you need an extra bed in the house — without taking up any additional space. The trundle also includes two hardwood plywood pieces to convert the bed frame into one large storage space for under-the-bed toys or supplemental bedding.
The most affordable certified organic kids mattress made in America. We craft our hybrid Eco Organic Kids Mattress in Los Angeles with 660 6-inch pocketed coils and 100% GOLS certified organic (CU863637) latex from our own sustainable farms in India and Guatemala for soft, contouring support. 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and wool (CU863637) deliver breathable, luxurious comfort.
This is not an imported bed frame. We're proud to craft our furniture, including our Kids Trundle Bed, right here in California, in our own FSC®-certified woodshop. We make all of our furniture domestically with exceptional attention to quality, durability, and detail.
Furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution because they emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds). In fact, the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and particle board that is commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens, such as Urea-formaldehyde or Phenol-formaldehyde. As members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, you can rest assured that our Kids Trundle Bed is consistent with healthy, environmentally friendly living.

The Kids Bed Frame is constructed from solid beechwood sourced in the USA. Beechwood is a sustainable hardwood with well-managed growth. Slats are made from FSC® certified (C156318) pine and the two, flat storage boards included with the twin trundle are made of hardwood plywood.
Do not use a mattress with a height greater than 7 inches. A protector or fitted sheet can be left on the mattress when closed, but all bedding should be removed. Use the hand-hold when opening and closing the trundle. When using the trundle for sleeping, the trundle bed must be pulled away entirely from the bed structure to prevent any entrapment issues. Make sure the area surrounding the trundle bed is clear of any hazard.
In 2019, Avocado Green became the first non-founding company to become Climate Neutral Certified, effectively making our business carbon neutral. A year later, we took it a step further by going carbon negative — offsetting more carbon emissions than the company generates. Avocado works with Climate Neutral to reduce its emissions, then we measure and voluntarily offset more than 100% of the rest, from resource extraction to shipping, by supporting carbon offset projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Our offset projects help mitigate climate change and support innovation in addressing greenhouse gas emissions reductions. But we know offsets aren’t enough. That’s why we also advocate for legislation that will mitigate climate change and protect people and the planet.
We believe in a circular economy that accounts for the lifecycle of our products. That’s one reason we design our Kids Trundle Bed with natural, solid wood, which makes it biodegradable. What’s more is that our GOTS certified factory, which we power entirely with renewable energy, is on its way toward a Zero-Waste certification, meaning we upcycle or recycle nearly all of our waste. The effort is consistent with our mission to set a new bar in environmental and social responsibility.
All of the furniture from Avocado is made in our own FSC® certified woodshop in California, where standards for sustainability and social responsibility are high. No Avocado wood furniture is imported.
