The Natural Wood End Table is part of our Natural Wood Collection — all built in our Los Angeles woodshop, where traditional craftsmanship meets high-tech capabilities. It proudly features reclaimed wood, eco-friendly materials, and environmentally conscious manufacturing. Handcrafted in our own sustainable facility (yes, just like our Green, All Latex, and Vegan mattress), our Natural Wood End Table features easy-to-open drawers, so no handles or knobs are needed. The clean, modern lines of the design allow the character of the reclaimed wood to shine. Complete the look with our Natural Wood Bed Frame and Natural Wood Dresser. Consistent with the values driving Avocado, we handcraft our furniture to meet the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
GLORIOUS RECLAIMED WOOD
Solid Douglas fir is "rescued" from local sources in California, with all of its rich character, blemishes, and nail holes carefully smoothed and plainly on display. The result is a substantial, heirloom-quality piece of furniture that is enhanced, never diminished, with life's little dings and scratches.

We've thoughtfully considered every detail of our Natural Wood Collection. We construct the solid wood end tables with the highest quality materials and techniques to ensure their longevity and durability. The hand-finished backs demonstrate quality woodworking from every angle. And the solid wood drawers and metal drawer slides have capacity and strength.
A GREENER CHOICE
Furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution because they emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds). In fact, the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and particle board commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens, such as Urea-formaldehyde or Phenol-formaldehyde. Our Natural Wood End Table is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by UL Environment. That means the end table is scientifically proven to meet some of the world's most rigorous, third-party emissions standards for chemical exposure and pollutants, such as VOCs, formaldehyde, and phthalates.

SOLID WOOD, NOT PARTICLE BOARD
The reclaimed wood used in our Natural End Table is solid, beautiful, and unique, sourced locally in California. No trees are harmed in the manufacturing of our furniture, which, in turn, helps to protect our natural resources, reduce waste, and promote sustainability.
VARIETY IS BEAUTIFUL
We use reclaimed wood from buildings constructed 50 to 100 years ago. These dense-grain, old-growth woods are harder and more durable than softer new woods. When sealed with a zero-VOC wood stain, the resulting color range of each piece is unique, as shown here. Note: we do our best to match the colors when furniture pieces are ordered together, but can not guarantee any consistency when reclaimed furniture pieces are ordered separately. Variances are to be expected, but that is part of the charm.
PRO ENVIRONMENT
Because no trees are cut down or transported to a mill, wood waste from building is diverted from landfills. This also reduces emissions associated with the logging, transport, and processing of new wood, while helping to safeguard our natural resources. All the wood we use is certified FSC® C156318. Use of reclaimed wood can also earn points toward the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program — a nationally recognized rating system for sustainable building by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Shipping & Delivery

Our Natural Wood End Table is handmade in our FSC® C156318 woodshop in Los Angeles. The End Table will ship fully assembled. Optional in-home delivery and setup is available. Furniture is not currently available to ship to Alaska and Hawaii. Our shipping provider will contact you directly to schedule your delivery. At this time, furniture and mattress and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.

Solid Wood Construction

Reclaimed (upcycled) solid vintage wood — much of it from old-growth Douglas fir forests in Western North America — is sourced locally from the greater Los Angeles area, where it has been seasoned for decades. We never use wood that's been previously chemically treated. The wood will exhibit the character of vintage material, to include smoothed nail holes, natural patina, fine cracks, and other weathering.

Zero-VOC Finish

We do not use traditional lacquers or varnishes, which typically contain harsh chemicals and have strong chemicals that can cause headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Instead, our dressers use a zero-VOC ECOS® wood stain, which is organic, non-toxic, and odor-free. It conforms to CDPH 01350 (VOC emissions test taken at 11, 12, & 14 days for classroom and office use), as well ASTMD-4236, specifically concerning oral toxicity, skin irritation, and respiratory effects.

Safe, Odorless Glues

Our assembly utilizes Titebond® wood glues, which are safe and produce no harmful fumes. They meet the requirements of ASTM D4236 for safe use with arts and crafts and have both been approved for indirect food contact.

We operate an FSC® C156318 certified wood shop — in a facility completely separate from our mattress factory, in Los Angeles — which produces wood dust. Read California's required Proposition 65 warning for wood dust.

Return Policy & Warranty

All furniture sales are final, with the exception of any defects in workmanship. Defects in workmanship are covered by our 10-year warranty. Keep in mind that reclaimed wood products will feature blemishes, holes, or other scars in the wood as testimony to its age, character, and singular beauty. Please note that reclaimed wood has inherent color variations. If you purchased a reclaimed wood product in the past, it is unlikely to be an exact match of a newer item. That said, all reclaimed wood furniture on the same order will match.
