The Avocado Green Mattress is GREENGUARD Gold Certified — and made with natural and organic materials, including GOLS-certified organic latex (CU 863637) from our co-owned farmers' collectives and co-owned processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA National Organic Program; GOTS-certified organic (CU 863637) certified wool from a farmers' society we also co-own; and GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU 863637). Our non-toxic green bed combines the finest natural cushioning with an internal, zoned, pressure-point support system for proper back support and extended durability. We even make a Vegan Mattress without wool that is also PETA-approved.

Avocado mattresses feature GOLS-certified organic latex (CU 863637) rubber foam from sustainably harvested sources. It’s an eco-conscious, high-performance material, offering resilience, durability, and temperature control far exceeding synthetic or fossil-fuel-derived polyurethane foams.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC WOOL
Organic wool does what other materials cannot — it wicks away moisture, stays fresh, and acts as a natural fire barrier. It’s also naturally anti-microbial, resistant to dust mites, and offers natural temperature control (to complement our organic latex). Our GOTS-certified organic wool (CU 863637) is ethically sourced from a collective we jointly own in India.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
Our luxurious, button-tufted mattress covers are made with premium, GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU 863637) — one of the softest, most breathable, and most comfortable fabrics. It’s cool, wicks moisture, and, better still, is more sustainable. No polyester is blended with our cotton.

At 11 inches thick, with 3 inches of GOLS certified organic latex rubber foam, it delivers a balanced firmness, comfort, and support. It’s ideal for back and stomach sleepers, and average to large/tall side sleepers. To adjust the feel, you can add a mattress topper at any time.
PILLOW-TOP
For a luxury, plush feel, you can upgrade your Green bed with an attached European-style pillow-top, filled with an additional 2-inch layer of GOLS certified organic latex rubber foam — for a total of 5 inches. At 13 inches thick, it’s ideal for all side and combination sleepers, and those needing more pressure relief or a luxurious feel.

Avocado mattresses feature our distinctive, soft, needle-tufted rosettes made from pure white organic wool. Needle-tufting is a time-honored technique dating back to the 17th century. It’s also highly functional. We bind the layers together by pulling ribbons through the entire mattress in up to 32 locations — without using chemical solvents or water-based adhesives. It radically improves durability. And it's a hallmark of quality.

It features up to 1,438 individually tuned, tempered steel coils in three gauges and is arranged in 5 distinct ergonomic zones. Two upholstered handles adorn both side panels of the mattress, neatly sewn for a tight fit. (Many foam mattresses don’t even have handles.) Our handles won’t bunch out underneath the sheets. Moving or adjusting your green bed is hassle-free. But you never need to flip it!

The chemical flame retardants used in most mattresses can be toxic, suspected to cause organ toxicity, hair loss, and other neurological damage. We do not use flame retardants or synthetic fire socks. How do we meet federal safety standards without chemicals? We only use organic wool sourced from our herding collective, which boasts 200,000+ sheep, 400+ farmers and herders, and 40,000+ hectares of organic pastures across the foothills of the Himalayas. The Avocado Green Mattress also meets the Responsible Wool Standard (CU 863637), which requires animal welfare practices at the sheep farm with a full chain of custody.
