PURE & NATURAL:
At Avocado, our green mattresses are made with 100% GOLS organic certified latex to produce the most green, healthy and luxuriously supportive foam imaginable. Here’s how we do it
: We begin by harvesting pure rubber sap from Hevea Brasiliensis trees in India. No trees are harmed in the process. (They yield latex for up to 30 years.) We then follow the traditional Dunlop manufacturing process that's been in use since 1929: we whip the latex sap into a froth, pour it into molds, cover it, and steam bake it. The end result is a clean and green material that's amazingly resilient, supportive and durable.
Synthetic foams and memory foams trap body heat and radiate it back, which results in uncomfortable perspiration. Our organic latex allows air to circulate naturally. By whisking away body heat, natural latex helps regulate your body temperature to ensure cool, restorative sleep. ANTI-MICROBIAL:
Organic latex is inherently resistant to mold, mildew and bacteria, and acts as a natural barrier to dust mites. When you consider that the average person sheds millions of microscopic skin cells and perspires nearly one pint of water every night, it's important to create an environment where these contaminants can not thrive. eco-INSTITUT CERTIFIED:
Our 100% GOTS organic certified latex carries the prestigious and independent certification from the eco-INSTITUT in Cologne, Germany. Their certificate of approval demonstrates that our green latex mattresses have been tested and proven to exceed the legal requirements for quality and health harmlessness of latex and mattress products. It means that our latex does not contain volatile organic compounds, persistent organic compounds, heavy metals, pesticides, formaldehyde or phthalates. VOC FREE:
Our organic latex does not emit a chemical odor or Volatile Organic Compounds, unlike memory foam or petroleum-based polyurethane foams. ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS: Pure latex provides for an environmentally-conscious and affordable non-toxic mattress.
The harvesting of the sap is sustainable; and the rubber trees help to purify the air and water, and promote biodiversity. Latex, despite being so highly durable and resilient, is biodegradable.
