FIND YOUR PERFECT ORGANIC PILLOW

Every Avocado pillow is certified organic and independently verified — not just the materials inside, but the finished product as it arrives at your door. Our pillow lineup is GOTS certified organic, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and UL® Formaldehyde-Free — a finished-product certification stack no other pillow brand currently holds simultaneously. No memory foam. No PLA. No synthetic microfiber.

ADJUSTABLE PILLOW,
CERTIFIED ORGANIC

The Green Pillow is Avocado's most versatile pillow — and the only GOTS-certified organic adjustable pillow with a side-sleeper crescent shape option. Fill is organic latex ribbons blended with organic kapok, a lightweight, breathable natural seed fiber that is naturally resistant to dust mites. Unlike most adjustable pillows, there is no shredded memory foam. Unzip and add or remove fill to dial in your exact loft. Available in Standard and Side Sleeper crescent shapes.

DOWN PILLOWS,
ETHICALLY SOURCED

The Down Pillow is filled with 650-fill-power down certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), independently verified for ethical sourcing and animal welfare from farm to finished product. Available in Soft, Medium, and Firm. For sleepers who want a down feel with latex support, the Grand Luxe Pillow combines shredded Pure Talalay® latex with RDS-certified down.

LATEX PILLOWS,
SUPPORT & LUXURY

The Molded Latex Pillow is formed from a single piece of charcoal-infused organic Dunlop latex — perforated for airflow, with a firm fixed profile that holds its shape under pressure all night. The top pick for side sleepers and hot sleepers with neck pain. For a softer, more buoyant feel, the Pure Talalay® Luxury Pillow uses FSC®-certified open-cell Talalay latex, available in Soft, Medium, and Firm.

AVOCADO PILLOWS ARE DIFFERERNT

Most pillows — including many marketed as natural, clean, or eco-friendly — are built around polyurethane foam, PLA (a plant-derived synthetic plastic), or synthetic microfiber fill. These materials can meet individual safety certifications like GREENGUARD Gold while still containing synthetic polymers that are not certifiable as organic under any existing standard.

Avocado pillows contain no polyurethane foam, memory foam, PLA, or synthetic microfiber. Every fill material — organic latex, organic kapok, RDS-certified down — is a natural, renewable input verified from source through finished product. Our GOTS-certified pillows hold the only finished-product organic certification that covers the entire product, not just individual components. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and UL® Formaldehyde-Free add overlapping layers of independent verification across different exposure pathways and substance categories. No other pillow brand currently holds all five simultaneously. The pillow in your bedroom is in contact with your skin and the air you breathe for eight or more hours a night. Certification tells you what's actually in it — and what isn't.

PILLOW PAIRINGS

MATCHING 2 PAIRS OF PILLOWS?

  • BEST FOR COUPLES — Different Sleepers, One Bed

Side sleeper and back sleeper sharing a bed. The Green Pillow (Side Sleeper) handles the high-loft need; Pure Talalay® Luxury handles the softer, medium-loft preference. Both reach across the bed without compromise. Green Pillow: Side Sleeper + Pure Talalay® Luxury Pillow

  • BEST FOR HOT SLEEPERS — Maximum Airflow, All Night

Both pillows in this pairing are built specifically for temperature regulation — the Molded Latex's perforated charcoal-infused core for firm support, the Green Pillow's kapok fill for lightweight breathability. No synthetic foam on either side of the bed. Molded Latex Pillow Green Pillow

  • BEST FOR LUXURY — Soft Support, No Compromise

Pure Talalay® latex for buoyant, pressure-relieving support. Grand Luxe for the hotel-plush feel of Talalay latex blended with RDS-certified down. Together: the softest, most indulgent all-natural combination in the lineup. Pure Talalay® Luxury Pillow + Grand Luxe Pillow

  • BEST FOR CERTIFIED VEGAN — Fully Vegan, Fully Organic

Both pillows are GOTS certified organic and Certified Vegan — no animal-derived materials of any kind. The Green Pillow's adjustable fill handles any sleep position; the Molded Latex holds its shape for sleepers who want firm, fixed support. Green Pillow + Molded Latex Pillow

  • BEST FOR NECK PAIN — Support First, Comfort Second

The Molded Latex Pillow is the primary sleeping pillow — firm, fixed, consistent cervical support all night. The Green Pillow, as the secondary — adjustable fill, lets you prop up for reading or swap if your position changes. Both are GOTS-certified organic. Molded Latex Pillow + Green Pillow

  • BEST ALL-LATEX PAIRING — Latex Throughout

Dunlop and Talalay are both latex — same plant source, different processing. Dunlop is denser and firmer; Talalay is lighter and more buoyant. Pairing them puts both feels within reach, with no synthetic fill on either pillow. Molded Latex Pillow + Pure Talalay® Luxury Pillow

PILLOW TALK

Frequently Asked Questions

The best organic pillow depends on your sleep position. Side sleepers: the Green Pillow (Side Sleeper crescent shape) or Molded Latex Pillow. Back sleepers: the Green Pillow at standard fill. Stomach sleepers: the Green Pillow with fill reduced, or the Down Pillow (Soft). All Avocado pillows are made without polyurethane foam, memory foam, PLA, or synthetic microfiber — and independently certified through overlapping third-party standards.
Side sleepers need high loft — enough fill to bridge the gap between shoulder and head and keep the spine level. The Green Pillow (Side Sleeper shape) features a crescent-shaped profile that cradles the head while filling the space between ear and shoulder, with adjustable fill to match your exact shoulder width. The Molded Latex Pillow provides a firm, fixed high-loft profile that holds its shape under side-sleeper pressure all night without compressing.
Neck pain is most often caused by a pillow that is too flat, too thick, or too soft — all of which let the head drift out of neutral alignment for hours at a time. The Molded Latex Pillow's firm charcoal-infused latex core holds a consistent profile all night without compressing. The Green Pillow is the adjustable alternative — remove or add fill until your neck stays neutral. Both are GOTS certified organic with no memory foam or synthetic fill.
The Avocado Green Pillow is filled with GOTS-certified organic latex ribbons and organic kapok — not shredded memory foam, which is the fill in most adjustable pillows. Unzip and add or remove fill to set your exact loft. Available in standard and side-sleeper crescent shapes. GOTS certified organic, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and UL® Formaldehyde-Free.
The Molded Latex Pillow — perforated charcoal-infused Dunlop latex — is the top pick for hot sleepers who want firm support. The Green Pillow's organic kapok fill is among the lightest and most breathable natural fills available. The Pure Talalay® Luxury Pillow's open-cell Talalay structure also promotes airflow. All three use natural materials that breathe rather than trap heat, with no synthetic foam to retain it.
Side sleepers need high loft to fill the gap between shoulder and head — the Green Pillow (Side Sleeper shape) or Molded Latex. Back sleepers need medium loft to maintain the cervical curve — the Green Pillow at standard fill or Molded Latex. Stomach sleepers need low loft to keep the neck roughly level with the spine — the Green Pillow with fill reduced, or the Down Pillow (Soft). Our quiz tailors a recommendation based on your position, body size, and mattress firmness.
Sleep position determines the shape you need. Side sleepers benefit from a higher-loft profile that fills the space between ear and shoulder — our Green Pillow (Side Sleeper) features a crescent-shaped contour designed specifically for this. Back and combination sleepers do well with a standard profile. Stomach sleepers need the flattest option available. We also offer the Organic Mini Pillow in a smaller travel size, and the Organic Latex Wedge Pillow for elevation support.
Certified-safe pillows are independently verified to be free of specific harmful substances — not self-described as natural or clean. GOTS certification prohibits synthetic pesticides and hazardous chemical inputs from farm through finished product. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I screens the finished pillow against harmful-substance thresholds designed for babies and toddlers. MADE SAFE® tests against carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, and reproductive toxins. GREENGUARD Gold certifies against airborne chemical emissions in bedrooms. Every Avocado pillow carries at least OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I; our GOTS-certified pillows carry the full stack.
Lifespan depends on fill material. Organic latex — the core fill in the Green and Molded Latex pillows — holds its loft and resilience significantly longer than polyurethane foam or synthetic microfiber, which typically compress and lose support within one to two years. Material condition is the right indicator: if your pillow no longer holds its shape or keeps your neck in neutral alignment, it's time to replace it. The Green Pillow's adjustable fill lets you refresh loft by adding fill rather than replacing the pillow.
Yes. The right pillow keeps your head and neck in neutral alignment through the night, reducing pressure on the cervical spine and the muscle strain that causes waking pain and stiffness. The wrong loft — too high or too low for your sleep position — lets the head drift out of alignment for hours at a time. Our quiz factors in your sleep position, body size, and mattress firmness to find the right fit.
Placing a pillow between your legs when sleeping on your side helps maintain proper alignment of the hips, pelvis, and spine. It prevents the upper leg from pulling your spine out of alignment, reducing strain on your lower back and hips. It can also reduce discomfort for those with sciatica or hip pain.
Yes. Our Organic Latex Wedge Pillow is made from GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex, available in 7" and 10" heights. Used for acid reflux, snoring reduction, leg elevation, and reading support. No synthetic foam.
The quiz asks about your sleep position, any neck or back pain, temperature preferences, and material priorities. Based on your responses, it recommends the Avocado pillow best matched to your needs — with the option to connect with our retail team for one-on-one guidance.
Yes. The quiz considers allergies, chemical sensitivities, chronic neck or back pain, and temperature regulation needs. If you have specific health concerns, our retail team can also provide personalized guidance by phone or in-person at an Avocado showroom.
Yes. Research has shown that choosing the correct pillow — particularly those made from latex — can significantly reduce neck pain and improve sleep quality by providing consistent cervical support (2021 systematic review and meta-analysis, PubMed). Pillow height relative to shoulder width is among the most studied ergonomic factors in spinal symptom prevention (ergonomic pillow height study, PubMed). Our quiz factors in these principles alongside your sleep position and body size.

WHAT IS KAPOK?

Kapok is a natural seed fiber harvested from the pods of the ceiba tree. It is approximately eight times lighter than cotton, naturally resistant to dust mites without chemical treatment, and fully compatible with GOTS finished-product certification. In the Green Pillow, GOTS-certified organic kapok is blended with organic latex ribbons to create a fill that is soft, breathable, and responsive. It is not a synthetic fiber, not a bioplastic, and not processed with industrial chemicals — it is harvested, cleaned, and used as grown.

WHY CHARCOAL?

The Molded Latex Pillow is infused with activated charcoal — integrated into the latex during molding, not applied as a surface coating — to absorb odors and manage moisture at the sleep surface. Combined with the perforated core, it's the top pick for hot sleepers who want firm neck support.

HOW DO I PROTECT
MY PILLOW?

A pillow protector sits between the pillow and the pillowcase, shielding the fill from sweat, oils, allergens, and spills — extending pillow life and keeping the sleep surface hygienic between washes. Keep two in rotation: one on the pillow, one in the wash. For pillows with a removable cover, a protector adds a second barrier layer. For pillows without one, it is essential. Ours are machine washable and removable.
