Our Down Duvet Insert ships via FedEx. At this time, furniture and mattress and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.

Machine wash cold with mild detergent. Extra rinse cycle. Tumble dry low heat with 3 clean dryer balls until thoroughly dry (may take several hours). Or professional launder. Do not dry clean. Important: If item does not have free movement in washer and dryer, use large capacity commercial machines. 

For small stains, spot cleaning with a mild detergent and water can be effective. Gently work on the stain and rinse the area thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Ensure the cleaned area is fully dry before using or storing the duvet.

We suggest giving your duvet a good shake and fluffing it up about once a week or each time you change your sheets to ensure the down filling remains evenly distributed. The down is washed and cleaned with Allernon-21 Ultrafresh® technology (EPA registered & OEKO-TEX® listed) to help remove any allergens and keep the down smelling fresh and clean.

Down fill power is a measure used to quantify the loft or fluffiness of down products, such as duvets, jackets, and sleeping bags, indicating the quality of the down. It measures the volume in cubic inches that one ounce of down fills up in a standardized testing environment. The higher the fill power number, the more air an ounce of down can trap, and therefore, the better it is at insulating. High fill power down provides more warmth for less weight, making it a desirable characteristic for lightweight and warm bedding or apparel. This measurement helps you compare the warmth-to-weight ratio of down products and make informed decisions based on their insulation needs and preferences.

We use a fill power of 650, which we consider to be ideal for a duvet insert. Firstly, it strikes a perfect balance between warmth and weight, providing excellent insulation without being overly heavy or cumbersome. This level of fill power ensures the duvet is fluffy and comfortable, offering a cozy sleeping experience across a wide range of temperatures. It's suitable for year-round use in many climates, making it a versatile choice — the perfect combination of comfort, warmth, and value.

The difference between a down duvet insert and down duvet comforter is all about how you use them. Our down duvet insert is like the secret natural ingredient for your bed, meant to slip into a duvet cover of your choice, making it super easy to switch up your room's look and keep things fresh and clean. A down duvet comforter, on the other hand, is a different product entirely, intended to be used without a cover.

A down alternative duvet insert designed to mimic the warmth and feel of real down duvets but without using actual down feathers. Down alternative duvet inserts are simply filled with synthetic fibers, such as polyester microfiber. At Avocado, our mission is to minimize the use of synthetic fibers. Our luxury Down Duvet Insert does not use any polyester fiber fill.
