We all sleep better when our body temperature lowers at night, and no fabric is more breathable and cool than linen. Linen is weightier and more durable than cotton, with a textured feel and elegant drape. Our Organic Linen Duvet Cover is garment washed, a pre-wash that increases comfort and keeps it from shrinking, losing shape, or fading. You can trust that our linen is of the finest quality. Loomed in France, it’s 100% GOTS organic certified — the gold standard in environmental and socially responsible textile manufacturing. We challenge you to find organic certified French linen for less.
Linen is woven from the renewable stalks of the flax plant, one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world. That’s because its naturally hypoallergenic fibers make for a highly breathable, absorbent, and fast-drying material. The textured fabric is coarser than cotton, but it softens over time and never pills or sheds. That makes our Organic Linen Sheets powerful and luxurious, with a small environmental footprint that's consistent with our principles of sustainability.
Sleep better knowing your sustainable bedding is 100% GOTS organic certified. Why does organic matter? Because conventional fabrics and the ecosystems they come from are polluted with pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Organic linen is held to a stricter standard, and ours is responsibly and sustainably grown. This is better for you, our farmers, and the planet. Best of all, organic linen has a luxurious finish, breathes easily, and wicks away moisture better than any synthetic.
Want unparalleled functionality from your duvet? Add our Alpaca Duvet Insert. No fiber better moderates your temperature than alpaca. By covering it in 100% GOTS certified organic cotton percale, we’ve created one of the most breathable and thermoregulating duvet inserts in the world. What’s more, the insert won’t shift or bunch up on you. And in using organic, natural, and renewable materials, our Alpaca Duvet Insert marries sustainability with luxury, made with your health — and the planet’s — at the forefront of its design.
We use corozo buttons to enclose our Organic Linen Duvet Cover. Corozo nuts come from the Tagua tree, native to lowland rain forests in Central and South America. The unique grain pattern of the nut makes them incredibly durable and scratch proof. Because the material is natural, the buttons will feature some variation in color. They are also a renewable and biodegradable material, and no trees are cut down for their harvest.
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with similar colors in cold water and eco-friendly detergent. Do not use fabric softeners, bleach, or whiteners. Line dry or tumble dry low and remove promptly. We do not recommend fabric softeners or dryer sheets, which reduce the absorbency of linen. Use wool dryer balls as a natural alternative.
Our Organic Linen Duvet Cover is MADE SAFE® Certified — a rigorous scientific screening process that only allows the use of ingredients that are not known or suspected to harm human health, animals, aquatic life, or ecosystems. This is healthier for you, your family, and our farmers.
In 2019, Avocado Green Mattress became the first mattress company to become Climate Neutral Certified, effectively making our business “carbon neutral.” A year later, we took it a step further by going carbon negative — offsetting more carbon emissions than the company generates. Carbon offsets are vehicles for paying to remove carbon from the atmosphere or to prevent greenhouse gases from getting there in the first place by financing things like forest conservation or clean energy.

Linen is known for its exceptional lightness, breathability, and texture. The fabric is ideal for bedding. It's soft, temperature-regulating, and hypoallergenic. Plus, it only gets better, softening with use. The 100% GOTS organic certified linen in our Linen Duvet Cover is loomed in France from 100% flax. They are woven to 165 gsm (grams per square meter) of fabric, making them medium-weight — both breathable and durable. Organic linen is extremely rare and we work with one of the few suppliers that meets our strict standards of social and environmental responsibility. We make our duvet cover buttons from corozo nuts, a renewable and biodegradable material sourced from the Tagua tree, native to lowland rain forests in Central and South America. Carbon Negative Production & Shipping
Avocado is a carbon negative business. That means we voluntarily offset more than 100% of our emissions, from resource extraction to shipping, by supporting carbon offset projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Our offset projects help mitigate climate change and support innovation in addressing greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
