To protect your new Avocado mattress from spills, stains, sweat, skin oils, and life's little accidents, we highly recommend our Organic Mattress Pad Protector. Made with soft GOTS-certified organic cotton and certified to MADE SAFE standards, it’s an organic (absorbent, non-waterproof) alternative to traditional plastic-based waterproof mattress protectors. No polyurethane, spandex, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), formaldehyde, PVCs, vinyls, laminates, adhesives, chemical finishes, or waterproof coatings.

The top of our Organic Mattress Pad Protector is cross-quilted for comfort and durability. The fitted skirt is made from organic cotton, not elasticized polyester. And a 1-inch wide elastic band around the skirt perimeter ensures a gentle fit that does not pull and tighten your mattress.

THICK MATTRESSES
Have a thick mattress? For anything more than 15 inches deep, we recommend deep pocket sheets and our Deep Pocket Mattress Protector, so your sheets or protector won’t stretch too taut, affecting your mattress. We stitch the deep pocket version with the same luxurious GOTS-certified organic cotton. An elastic waist 22 inches deep will fit the most luxurious mattresses.

Spot clean or machine wash your Organic Mattress Pad Protector separately using an eco-conscious laundry detergent in cold water and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach and do not iron.

ORGANIC MATERIALS
Our Organic Mattress Pad Protector, including the fitted skirt, is made in India with 300 thread count GOTS-certified organic cotton with a smooth Sateen finish and 240 gram/meter filling. Except for the 1-inch wide latex rubber elastic band, we don't use any non-organic fibers. The elastic band is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified: Class (10.HIN.79030 Hohenstein HTTI) to screen for harmful chemicals. The mattress pad protector ships uncompressed, folded under tissue, and includes a canvas bag.
ABSORBENT, NOT WATERPROOF
Our Organic Mattress Pad Protector is unsuited for those with nighttime incontinence or bed-wetting issues. Instead, it’s intended to protect your mattress from stains, skin oils, and perspiration; absorb moderate spills and accidents; and keep it clean. As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.
PROJECT ZERO WASTE
We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this. GOOD HOUSEKEEPING LIMITED WARRANTY
If any product that bears the Good Housekeeping Limited Warranty Seal proves to be defective within two years from the date it was first sold to a consumer by an authorized retailer, Good Housekeeping will refund the purchase price or $2,000, whichever is less, or, at Good Housekeeping’s sole discretion, repair or replace the product.
