Our Mid-Century Modern Bed Frame is made from sturdy natural timber and assembled with eco-conscious materials. We construct the frame with reclaimed wood or 100% walnut. The slats in the reclaimed wood model are sourced from responsibly forested Douglas fir. Handmade in our Los Angeles facility (just like our Green and Vegan mattresses), which marries traditional craftsmanship with high-tech capabilities, the platform adds elegance to any bedroom. Inspired by mid-century design, the bed employs clean, simple lines to create a classic piece that will last generations.

No particle board. No fiberboard. Just real, solid, heavy wood. The reclaimed wood utilized in our Mid-Century Bed Frame is beautiful and unique — sourced from local sources in California. No trees are harmed in the manufacturing of our furniture, which in turn, helps to protect our natural resources, reduce waste (through reuse and by building quality products that last), lessen our footprint, and promote sustainability.

We handcraft the reclaimed Mid-Century Modern Bed Frame with pure, beautiful reclaimed wood. We utilize lumber from local sources in California, with all of its rich character, blemishes, and nail holes carefully smoothed and plainly on display. We use a clear ECOS finish. The result is an heirloom-quality piece of furniture that is enhanced, never diminished, with life's dings and scratches. Consistent with our broader company values, we handcraft our furniture to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility.

We only use materials that are safe for you and your family. We stain the Mid-Century Modern Bed Frame with a zero-VOC finish called ECOS® WoodShield stain, which is organic, non-toxic, and odor-free. For assembly, we use the safe, fumeless Titebond Wood Glue, because it meets the requirements of ASTM D4236 for use with arts and crafts, and has both been approved for indirect food contact. All materials are American-made.

Furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution because they emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds). In fact, the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and particle board commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens, such as Urea-formaldehyde or Phenol-formaldehyde. Our City Bed Frame doesn't use any of these materials. As members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, you can rest assured that our City Bed Frame supports healthy, environmental-friendly living.

The reclaimed wood and walnut in our natural bed frame is solid, beautiful, unique, and sourced locally in California. No trees are harmed in the manufacturing of our furniture, which in turn, helps to protect our natural resources, reduce waste (through reuse and building quality products that last), limit our impact, and promote sustainability.

We believe in a circular economy that accounts for the life cycle of our products. That’s one reason we design our Mid-Century Modern Bed entirely with real wood. The natural materials make the bed frame biodegradable. What’s more is that our GOTS certified California factory, which we power entirely with renewable energy, is on its way toward a Zero-Waste certification, meaning almost nothing gets thrown away. We upcycle all our material byproducts. The effort is consistent with our mission to set a new bar in environmental and social responsibility.

Our wood is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). It's also helpful to note that the use of reclaimed wood can earn points toward the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program — a nationally recognized rating system for sustainable building by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
