The Natural Wood Dresser proudly features reclaimed wood and handcrafted carpentry. We build our furniture in our California woodshop, where we marry traditional craftsmanship with high-tech capabilities. Our Natural Wood Dresser features easy-open plywood drawers, so no handles or knobs are needed. The clean, modern lines of the design allow the character of the reclaimed wood to shine. Complete the look with our Natural Wood Bed Frame and Natural Wood End Table. Consistent with the values driving Avocado, we handcraft our furniture to meet the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
GLORIOUS RECLAIMED WOOD
Solid Douglas fir is "rescued" from local sources in California, with all of its rich character, blemishes, and nail holes carefully smoothed and plainly on display. The result is a substantial, heirloom-quality piece of furniture that is enhanced, never diminished, with life's little dings and scratches.
QUALITY IN THE DETAILS
We've thoughtfully considered every detail of our Natural Wood Collection. We construct the wood dressers using the highest quality construction techniques to ensure their longevity and durability. For strength and durability, we use Baltic Birch Plywood drawers with dovetail joints and metal drawer slides that have capacity and strength. Plywood is also an eco-friendly choice because it minimizes waste and maximizes yield.
VARIETY IS BEAUTIFUL
We use reclaimed wood from buildings constructed 50 to 100 years ago. These dense-grain, old-growth woods are harder and more durable than softer new woods. When sealed with a responsible wood stain, the resulting color range of each piece is unique, as shown here. Note: We do our best to match the colors when furniture pieces are ordered together, but can not guarantee any consistency when reclaimed furniture pieces are ordered separately. Variances are to be expected, but that is part of the charm.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Our Natural Wood Dresser is handmade in our woodshop in Los Angeles. The dresser will ship fully assembled.
Delivery is only available within the continental United States only. Optional in-home delivery and setup does not include hauling away your old furniture. Our shipping provider will contact you directly to schedule your delivery. At this time, furniture and mattress and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.
SOLID WOOD CONSTRUCTION
Reclaimed (upcycled) solid vintage wood — much of it from old-growth Douglas Fir ecosystems in Western North America — is sourced locally from the greater Los Angeles area, where it has been seasoned for decades. All of the wood used will exhibit the character of vintage wood, including smoothed nail holes, natural patina, fine cracks, and other weathering. For strength and durability, we use Baltic Birch Plywood drawers with dovetail joints in our Natural Dresser. Plywood is also an eco-friendly choice because it minimizes waste and maximizes yield.
ECOS Wood Stain
Our dressers use a zero-VOC ECOS® wood stain. It conforms to CDPH 01350 (VOC emissions test taken at 11, 12, & 14 days for classroom and office use), as well ASTMD-4236, specifically concerning oral toxicity, skin irritation, and respiratory effects.
Titebond Wood Glues
Our assembly utilizes Titebond® wood glues. They meet the requirements of ASTM D4236 for safe use with arts and crafts and have both been approved for indirect food contact.
WARRANTY & RETURN POLICY
The Natural Wood Dresser is FINAL SALE, with the exception of any defects in workmanship. Defects in workmanship are covered by our 10-year warranty. Please review our return policy. Please note that this is a natural wood product that will feature blemishes, knots, or other scars in the wood as a testimony to its age, unique character, and singular beauty.
Please note that reclaimed timber has inherent color variations. If you purchased a reclaimed wood product in the past, it is unlikely to be an exact match for a newer item. That said, all reclaimed wood furniture in the same order will match.
Includes Anti Tip-Over Hardware
As of September 1, 2023, furniture manufacturers and retailers in the United States must comply with new furniture safety standards. Dressers, armoires, and other clothing storage furniture must meet stability standards to avoid injury and death from tip-overs and include anchor kits. As a result, this dresser must be attached to the wall with the included tip-over prevention hardware, according to the instructions. More information on Anchor It!, including generic instructions to protect children from tip-overs, is available online.

PROJECT ZERO WASTE
We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this.
