ORGANIC, SAFE, & COZY
Wrap yourself with natural materials. Our GOTS-certified organic cotton is totally organic, non-toxic, and refreshingly breathable. Better yet, with a 400 thread count, our Cotton Duvet Cover gets softer with each wash — never fading or pilling. When it comes to bedding, it’s hard to beat the lightweight, crisp decadence of organic cotton. By using GOTS-certified organic cotton, our Organic Cotton Duvet Cover is a higher-functioning duvet cover with sustainability in mind.
CRISP, NATURAL ORGANIC COTTON
We manufacture our Organic Cotton Duvet in an entirely renewable and sustainable way, in compliance with the Global Organic Textile Standard — the gold standard for environmental and social responsibility. Our organic cotton has a luxurious finish and a highly breathable membrane, keeping you cool and dry. That’s because it wicks away moisture better than any synthetic material. Plus, conventional cotton is a polluted crop grown with toxins. Our cotton is ethically grown in India without pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. The result is a luxurious duvet cover with a small environmental footprint, in line with our sustainability principles.
ADD OUR INCREDIBLE ALPACA DUVET INSERT
Want unparalleled functionality from your duvet? Add our Alpaca Duvet Insert. No fiber better moderates your temperature than alpaca. By covering it in GOTS-certified organic cotton percale, we’ve created one of the most breathable and thermoregulating duvet inserts in the world. What’s more, the insert won’t shift or bunch up on you. In using organic, natural, and renewable materials, our Alpaca Duvet Insert marries sustainability with luxury, made with your health — and the planet’s — at the forefront of its design.
RENEWABLE COROZO NUT BUTTONS
We use corozo nut buttons to enclose our Organic Cotton Duvet Cover. Corozo nuts come from the Tagua tree, native to lowland rain forests in Central and South America. The unique grain pattern of the nut makes them incredibly durable and scratch-proof. Because the material is natural, the buttons will feature some variation in color. They are also a renewable and biodegradable material, and no trees are cut down for their harvest.
ETHICALLY-CRAFTED
Our manufacturing process reduces water and electricity consumption. Our Organic Cotton Duvet Cover is pre-washed and processed to maintain a neutral pH level providing a safe touch to the skin. We’ve also worked to reduce the amount of wasted fabric during production. The effort is part of the broader environmental mission, like our Farm to Mattress concept, that drives Avocado.
SIMPLE CARE
Machine-wash your Organic Cotton Duvet Cover on a gentle cycle with similar colors in cold water. Use an eco-friendly detergent. Do not use fabric softeners, bleach, or whiteners. Line dry or tumble dry low and remove promptly. We do not recommend fabric softeners or dryer sheets, which reduce the absorbency of cotton. As a natural alternative, use wool dryer balls.
MADE SAFE CERTIFIED
Our Organic Cotton Duvet Cover is MADE SAFE® certified — a rigorous scientific screening process that only allows the use of ingredients that are not known or suspected to harm human health, animals, aquatic life, or ecosystems. This is healthier for you and for the farmers that grow our cotton.

MATERIALS
Cotton: Our organic cotton is grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizers, so it's better for you, your family, our farmers, and the planet. Stitched in a single-ply, with 400 threads per inch (TPI).
For standard cottons, or even most other long staple cottons, a high thread count does not translate to a better quality sheet. Using single-ply yarns, most cottons achieve a maximum thread count of around 400-500. After that, multi-ply yarn must be used, which generally indicates a lower quality cotton that needs multiple plies woven together for strength. No multi-ply yarn is used in our organic cotton sheets.Corozo buttons: We make our duvet cover buttons from corozo nuts, a renewable and biodegradable material sourced from the Tagua tree, native to lowland rain forests in Central and South America. The unique grain pattern of the nut makes them incredibly durable and scratch proof. Because the material is natural, the buttons will feature some variation in color. No trees are cut down to harvest the nut.

CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED
As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.
PROJECT ZERO WASTE
We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this. We're we aren't done yet. Our goal is at least a 90% diversion rate. Read more about Project Zero Waste.
