Most companies fill their throw pillows with petroleum-based polyurethane foams and siliconized fibers. They get covered with chemical-based polyester fabric that can impact human and environmental health. Not us. We craft our safe, non-toxic Organic Throw Pillow Insert exclusively with certified organic materials. We fill our pillow with 100% GOLS certified organic (CU 863637) natural latex shreds and GOTS certified organic kapok fiber and stitch it all together with 100% GOTS certified organic cotton fabric. It's a GOTS certified organic product. That means it's better for you, your family, our workers, and the planet.

 

OVERSIZED & PLUMP

We generously stuff our pillow insert with organic latex and kapok fiber. We upcycle the ribbons of GOLS certified organic latex from leftover layers of our mattresses. We harvest and process the material ourselves in our own sustainable farms and facilities in India and Guatemala. Just like with our mattresses, latex provides support and structure while offering exceptional resilience, durability, and temperature control. We collect our Kapok fiber from the tropical tree Ceiba pentandra. With the smoothness of silk and the fluffiness of cotton, GOTS certified organic kapok fiber is the ideal renewable pillow fill. It’s a softer, lighter, and vegan alternative to down. It's also hypoallergenic, biodegradable, non-toxic, and grown pesticide-free.

We craft our Organic Throw Pillow Insert in our GOTS certified factory in Los Angeles with the best organic materials from around the world. GOTS validates that we provide our factory team with fair wages and safe working conditions. GOTS also prohibits the use of toxic chemicals commonly used in textile processing that can cause cancer, birth defects, and other serious illnesses.

Our Organic Throw Pillow inserts come voluminously stuffed, delivering a medium-plush feel. Give them a good shake and fluff regularly. If you prefer to change its level of support, a convenient zipper enables you to add or remove fill to meet your ideal volume, firmness, and style preference. You can always also purchase more fill to increase volume and extend the life of your insert.

Our team in Los Angeles does all material processing, cutting and sewing, assembly, and packaging. A convenient zipper makes it easy to add or remove fill to suit your sleep preference.

  • Your Organic Throw Pillow Insert comes oversized and stuffed for simple, customized comfort. To add volume to your pillow, or to extend its life, you can add pillow refill.
    Additional refill packages can be purchased in two convenient sizes.

  • No Chemical Flame Retardants

  • The Organic Throw Pillow Insert contains no chemical flame retardants, which are known to release VOCs and impact human health. We do not add them because we believe they generally do more harm than good. (FYI: Pillows are not required to pass the Standard for the Flammability of Mattresses and Mattress Pads, issued by the CPSC. Therefore, it is logical that ignition sources should be kept safely away from any pillow that contains natural materials without the use of chemical flame retardants.)

  • Vegan Certified – No Wool or Animal Products

  • Avocado vegan products contain no animal products or animal byproducts, such as wool. We do, however, produce products that do contain wool, and shared machinery and facilities are used between our vegan and non-vegan products. However, we have demonstrated verifiable acceptable steps that we take to thoroughly clean and sanitize all surfaces, tools, and machinery used between vegan and non-vegan production cycles to minimize cross-contamination.
