We craft the Avocado Green® Alpaca Wool Plush Mattress Topper with the finest natural and organic materials, including 100% natural alpaca, 100% GOTS organic and OEKO-TEK Standard 100 certified wool, and 100% GOTS organic certified cotton. Alpaca fiber is so sumptuous and soft it was once reserved for Incan royalty. We quilt our Alpaca Wool Plush Mattress Topper at our organic certified factory in Los Angeles. Designed to rest on top of your existing standard or pillow-top mattress, this premium topper will add decadent loft, cushioning, and luxury.
ALPACA AND WOOL
IN NATURAL HARMONY
100% NATURAL ALPACA
Alpaca is softer than silk and rarer than cashmere. Because it is a hollow fiber, it is lighter in weight and warmer than wool. It's also one of the most eco-friendly natural fibers on earth, since alpaca need less food and water than other fiber-producing animals. Better still, alpaca fiber is also naturally hypoallergenic, mold resistant, nearly waterproof, and naturally flame retardant. And we use a lot of it — 1,000 grams per square meter (gsm) of alpaca, which is about 2 inches thick — all of which is ethically sourced from Patagonia.
100% ORGANIC WOOL
We ethically source our GOTS organic certified wool from a farming and herding collective that we jointly own in the Himalayas. Why is wool so important? Because of its singular thermoregulation properties. Wool wicks away moisture, adds bounce, and allows air to circulate naturally. We're committed to clean processing — no chemicals or crimping and no added toxic flame retardants. We add our organic wool in two layers, each about 1 inch thick (350 gsm) at the top and bottom, enveloping the alpaca. It helps keep you cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool.
Made without latex, our Alpaca Wool Plush Mattress Topper is a light, breathable, and luxurious layer to add softness to your bed. Two layers of GOTS organic certified wool sandwich a thick 2-inch layer of natural alpaca. The result of the two high-performing, renewable fabrics working together is an unparalleled level of plush comfort.
ADD LUXURY TO ANY MATTRESS
WARM IN WINTER, COOL IN SUMMER
The quilted pattern is designed to ensure the alpaca and wool layers maintain their plushness and loft, without shifting. Because it's a natural product, it shouldn't need regular cleaning. Simply airing the topper can do it a world of good, as does an occasional fluffing when you clean your sheets.
FOUR ELASTIC STRAPS
Attaching your Alpaca Wool Plush Mattress Topper to your mattress is simple. Just place it on top of your mattress, and, if you prefer, use the four elastic bands — encased in 400TC GOTS organic certified cotton — at each corner to hold it snugly in place. Yes, an optional mattress pad protector or your fitted sheet can envelop the mattress and alpaca topper together.

100% GOTS Organic Certified Wool
The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: wool wicks away moisture, keeps your bed smelling fresh, and acts as yet another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. And it’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. We use two layers of pure, naturally crimped wool (800 gsm total) above and below to nestle the Alpaca. We do not blend any rayon, polyester, or flame retarding chemicals with our wool. Our organic wool has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification(19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI) — which requires annual lab testing to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides and dyes.
100% Natural Alpaca
Alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic, mold resistant, water-repellent, and naturally flame-retarding. Alpaca is an amazingly soft, luxurious, and silky natural fiber. Our Alpaca is ethically sourced from the Patagonia region in Argentina. In the Alpaca Mattress Pillow Topper, we use 1,000 gsm (almost 2 inches) thick.
100% GOTS Organic Certified Cotton
For a luxurious and premium finish, we use 100% GOTS organic certified cotton in a soft, natural color. No polyester fiber is used. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile is stitched in a diamond pattern to elegantly finish our Alpaca Topper, as well as used as a cotton canvas base. Our organic cotton has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI), to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides and dyes.
To protect your alpaca wool mattress topper, we recommended a mattress cover. Spot clean only with natural cleaners. Do not machine wash. Do not iron or bleach. Dry completely after spot cleaning. Occasional airing will keep it fresh and clean. Rotate and fluff your alpaca topper to help retain loft.
The Avocado Alpaca Mattress Pillow Topper is covered by a 100-night sleep trial (subject to our Sleep Trial Policy Terms)and a 1-Year Limited Warranty.

A law label is a legally required label on mattress products. It specifies the interior filling materials, using government regulated language. Few companies share this information prior to your purchase. We believe differently. Here’s what the legal tag on an Avocado Plush Alpaca Pillow Topper actually says: Made in California with internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Natural Alpaca (65%) and Natural Wool Fiber (35%), plus a 100% Organic Cotton Cover. Note: NO polyurethane foams, NO memory foams, NO synthetic foams, NO latex blends, NO chemical adhesives, and NO chemical flame retardants are used!

PLASTIC OCEANS INTERNATIONAL
People buy 500 billion plastic water bottles worldwide every year. More than 90 percent of all plastics are never recycled. The result? Eight million tons of plastic dumped in the oceans annually. The consequences are devastating — diminished ecosystems and wildlife as well microplastics in our own food and water systems. That’s why Plastic Oceans International is on a mission to end plastic pollution. Through advocacy, activism, education, and science, the nonprofit hopes to change the world’s attitude toward plastic and thereby influence public policy and consumer and corporate behavior.
