MODERN, SUSTAINABLE, AFFORDABLE
The City Nightstand is part of our City Collection — with each piece crafted in our sustainable Los Angeles facility, which marries traditional craftsmanship with high-tech capabilities. The contemporary, minimalist nightstand maximizes your space and keeps tea, candles, plants, books, and other nighttime essentials close by. Made with solid, responsibly harvested American beechwood in our FSC®-certified Los Angeles woodshop, we stain the nightstand with non-toxic ECOS® wood stains in a brown or clear blonde finish. No nasty, VOC-emitting glues or finishes. The nightstand ships assembled.

SOLID, SUSTAINABLY SOURCED TIMBER
No particleboard. No fiberboard. No toxic finishes or stains. We craft the City Nightstand with 100% solid, sustainably harvested beechwood, an abundant hardwood grown in the USA. A combination of water-based ECOS® stains gives it a dark color similar to walnut, or choose a clear, light finish that will brighten any room. The result is a high-quality, eco-friendly, and affordable piece of furniture.

DESIGNED FOR SMALL SPACES
With its sleek, modern design, the space-saving City Nightstand is easy to move and ideal for apartments and small rooms — but it will look sharp anywhere. That’s because we build it with solid wood.

STUNNING, NON-TOXIC FINISHES
Eco-friendly finishes enhance its natural patina — without compromising the planet. We use safe, non-toxic materials that don’t emit nasty VOCs or odors. Select either a rich, dark brown stain or a clear, blonde-hued finish for your City Nightstand. Both finishes reveal the rich character of the wood. Sleep better knowing your nightstand is non-toxic, made with ECOS® wood stains and Titebond® wood glues, which are safe and produce no harmful fumes.

SHIPS ASSEMBLED
Save yourself time. The City Nightstand arrives assembled, so all you have to do is find the perfect spot for it. That’s it. No tools, craftspeople, or manuals required.

PAIR WITH THE WHOLE COLLECTION
Our City Nightstand is part of our City Collection which includes our City Bed Frame and City Dresser. All crafted with 100% solid wood, each of the pieces complements one another.
BETTER FOR YOU AND THE PLANET
Furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution because they emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds). In fact, the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and particle board that is commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens, such as Urea-formaldehyde or Phenol-formaldehyde. Our City Nightstand is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by UL Environment. That means the dresser is scientifically proven to meet some of the world's most rigorous, third-party emissions standards for chemical exposure and pollutants, such as VOCs, formaldehyde, and phthalates.
As members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, you can rest assured that our City Nightstand is consistent with healthy, environmentally friendly living.

CARBON NEGATIVE
In 2019, Avocado Green became one of the first Climate Neutral Certified companies, effectively making our business carbon neutral. A year later, we took it a step further by going carbon negative — offsetting more carbon emissions than the company generates. Avocado works with Climate Neutral to reduce its emissions, then we measure and voluntarily offset more than 100% of the rest by supporting carbon offset projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Our offset projects help mitigate climate change and support innovation in addressing greenhouse gas emissions reductions. But we know offsets aren’t enough. That’s why we also advocate for legislation that will mitigate climate change and protect people and the planet.

PROJECT ZERO-WASTE
In 2020, Avocado became the first bedding company to have its Landfill Waste Diversion rated Validated by UL. In 2021, we developed more products made with upcycled materials to further limit our waste. Now, we have an entire line of furniture made with upcycled wood remnants from our Los Angeles facility. By being intentional about our materials and manufacturing, we’ve achieved an overall waste diversion rate of 69%. Our goal is to achieve a Zero Waste to Landfill certification by recycling more than 80% of our waste. Implementing zero-waste practices and reducing our impact is essential if we want to make meaningful strides in the fight against climate change and ensure a better, healthier planet for future generations.
