With a medium feel (5 out of 10), our Organic 11″ Hybrid Mattress is ideal for side sleepers, as well as back sleepers and stomach sleepers. It provides optimized pressure relief and contours to your body’s natural curves.

We use GOLS certified organic Dunlop latex (CU863637), which is also Rainforest Alliance and FSC® certified (C156318). We make our own GOLS certified organic latex from co-owned farmer's societies and processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. It's made with ≥95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, requires no adhesives to seam it together, and is more durable than Talalay latex. It is processed in a GOLS organic certified facility in India that we also co-own. Our Organic 11″ Hybrid Mattress uses one seamless layer of organic latex — 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft). Our organic latex also features certifications from Rainforest Alliance, eco-INSTITUT®, and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 (19.0.79546, Hohenstein HTTI).

The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. It’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. At Avocado, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped GOTS certified organic wool (CU 863637) (1 ounce per square foot) under the organic certified cotton ticking in every mattress. We do not blend any rayon, polyester, or flame retarding chemicals with our wool. Our organic wool has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI) — which requires annual lab testing to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticide,s and dyes. For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU863637) in a soft, natural color for a luxurious and premium finish over a generous layer of organic wool with thin, non-woven backing as a natural fire barrier. This finished fabric comprises 97% Organic Cotton and 3% Elastane. Elastane is used only for functional stretch to enhance durability and is within GOTS standards. 

We use up to 1,000 8" springs (in the King). Made in our manufacturing facility, our border coils are 16 gauge, and interior zone coils are 14 gauge. Thicker coils deliver greater durability. Encased in a food-grade polypropylene fabric (non-woven and non-toxic), these premium springs float independently to further improve airflow, support, and spinal alignment.

Some companies use toxic chemical glues to bind their mattress layers together, which contributes to off-gassing and indoor air pollution. We do not. Instead, we needle tuft the Organic 11″ Hybrid Mattress by hand for quality and durability.

No flame retardants of any kind are used. Our Organic 11″ Hybrid Mattress uses only GOTS organic certified wool, which is naturally fire resistant. This wool has also been tested for harmful substances and meets STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI).

Your 100-Night Hybrid Mattress trial begins after you receive your mattress, and is limited to one mattress per household, after a minimum of 30 days, according to policy terms & conditions. Products must be in a condition suitable for donation to be eligible for return (i.e., no stains, tears, excessive odors, or soiling) with the law tag attached to the mattress and in its original, unaltered state. Your mattress must be used on a foundation or non-yielding bed frame with proper structural support. A proper bed frame is defined, for the purpose of this policy, as having at least five to six leg supports for a Queen and King, four leg supports for Full Mattresses. For Queen and King slatted style bed frames, there cannot be greater than five 5 inches between each slat in order to provide ample structural support for the foundation and user(s). Boxspring, which contain springs and therefore can sag over time, may not provide proper structural support and are not recommended. The mattress must be rotated head-to-toe, once a month for the first six months, then every other month, to ensure even wear. A law label is a legally required tag or label on new mattresses describing interior filling materials. Few companies will share this information before your purchase because it separates fact from marketing hype. We believe differently. Here's what the legal tag on the Organic 11" Hybrid Mattress says: Made in California with internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Latex Foam Rubber Pad (91%) and Wool Fiber (9%), plus a fabric cover comprised Organic Cotton (97%) and Elastane (3%). Note: NO polyurethane foams, NO memory foams, NO synthetic foams, NO latex blends, NO chemical adhesives between the comfort layers, and NO chemical flame retardants are used!
