Our Avocado Green Mattress Foundation is made exclusively for us by our partner in Mexico and proudly features FSC®-certified wood, the same 100% GOTS certified organic certified cotton fabric we use on our mattresses, and environmentally-conscious manufacturing. Our foundation features a clean, seamless design that perfectly complements and supports our mattresses. Consistent with our broader company values, we build our foundation without any glues to align with healthy and sustainable practices.
FSC® CERTIFIED WOOD
All of the wood in our foundation is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC). FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly-managed forests that provide important environmental, social, and economic benefits.
GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
For a luxurious and premium finish, we use 100% GOTS certified organic cotton in a soft, natural color. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, we also use this durable textile to finish our mattresses. We do not use polyester fiber. Our cotton has also been tested to ensure it contains no harmful substances.
GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFIED
Our foundation is GREENGUARD Gold Certified by UL Environment for low emissions, just like each of our mattresses. That means they’re tested in an environmental chamber to meet the world’s most rigorous, third-party emissions standards for chemical exposure and pollutants, to include volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, and phthalates. Few other foundations, if any, qualify for this gold standard.
BUILT TO LAST
Our Avocado Green Foundation features a FSC-certified wood frame surrounded by a woven exterior that's designed to provide lasting support for your mattress. Use it in place of a box spring, on top of any traditional metal or wood bed frame or platform that requires a foundation for the optimal sleep experience. Engineered for reliability, we've tested our foundations to support up to 600 pounds.
ALLOWS PROPER AIRFLOW FOR MATTRESS
Each Avocado Green Foundation allows optimal airflow for your mattress while maintaining critical support with wooden slats, spaced 4.5 inches apart. While older box springs may sag over time, or provide unwanted bounce, our foundations are built-to-last and feature a 10-year warranty.
TOOL & HASSLE-FREE ASSEMBLY
The minimalist design of our Avocado Green Foundation allows for assembly in just minutes — without tools! Simply lock the four outermost wood frame rails together, insert the provided locking pin, add the center support frame, and roll out the woven slatted surface on the top. Yes, it’s that easy.

Our foundation ships via FedEx in convenient, compact packaging. If you order your foundation with one of our mattresses and choose our optional in-home delivery service, we'll also set up your foundation for you (within the continental U.S. only).
