NEW! Avocado Latex Mattress
The Foam Mattress Perfected:
100% Organic, Perfect Bounce®,
Low Profile, Firm Feel, Biodegradable!
We don’t hold back on the GOLS organic certified natural latex in our Latex Mattress. We use a full 9 inches of foam, all of which comes from our own organic farms, to provide firm, contouring support. With our GOTS organic certified wool and cotton rounding out the support layers, the mattress is made exclusively with natural, organic, materials — so it’s entirely biodegradable. A slimmer profile gives it a sleek, modern look. And rest easy knowing your mattress is also GREENGUARD Gold and 100% GOTS organic certified for the highest marks in environmental and social responsibility.
OUR FIRMESTFloat. Don’t sink. This isn’t a memory foam mattress that will envelop you. Our Latex Mattress provides gentle, stable, cool, motion-isolating support, but with just a touch of gentle give. It features a whopping 9 inches of natural 100% GOLS organic certified Dunlop latex — sourced from our own farms in India. Unlike our hybrid green and vegan mattresses, there are no springs. Rating 7.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, this is our firmest mattress, but in an oh-so-good way. It’s ideal for active couples, back or stomach sleepers, and tall/large combination sleepers.
Most all-latex mattresses feel too bouncy. Not ours. Our patented, wavy Convoluted Latex actually dampens the responsive foam layers and reduces motion transfer. So does the 100% GOTS organic certified cotton that we sandwich between each of the latex layers. The result is an all-latex mattress with just the right level or response and bounce.
SUPPORT SO GOOD,
IT’S GETTING PATENTED
Our proprietary Convoluted Latex, reimagines a mattress’s foam core. We use lasers to cut the top of the foam into concave peaks, along the bottom of the top layer. (They don’t point up.) These zig-zagging waves of organic latex inhibit motion transfer and create three targeted zones that contour to your body’s harder bits and natural curves. In the middle, these waves are more compact (1 inch apart), while at the ends, the waves are longer (2 inches apart). This keeps your spine aligned and reduces pressure points in your shoulder and hips. No wonder it is endorsed, after vigorous testing, by the American Chiropractic Association.
Avocado mattresses feature our distinctive, soft, needle-tufted rosettes made from pure white organic wool. Needle-tufting is a time-honored technique dating back to the 17th century. It’s also highly functional. By pulling ribbons through the full mattress in up to 36 locations, we bind the layers together — without the use of toxic solvent or water-based adhesives. It radically improves durability and stability. And it's a hallmark of quality.
HEAVY-DUTY HANDLESOur all latex mattress is heavy, between 93 - 185 pounds. That’s why we stitch two vertical, upholstered handles on both side panels of the mattress. With a low-profile, snug fit, our handles won’t bunch up underneath the sheets. These reinforced handles make rotating or adjusting your latex mattress hassle-free.
Avocado is a certified B Corp and a carbon negative business. That means we voluntarily offset more than 100% of our emissions, from resource extraction all the way to shipping, by supporting carbon offset projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Our offset projects help mitigate climate change and support innovation in addressing greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
We believe in a circular economy that accounts for the life cycle of our products. That’s one reason we design our Latex Mattress entirely from latex, wool, and cotton. These organic, natural materials make the mattress completely biodegradable. What’s more is that our organic certified California factory, which we power entirely with renewable energy, is on its way toward a Zero-Waste certification, meaning nothing gets thrown away. We upcycle all our material byproducts. The effort is consistent with our mission to set a new bar in environmental and social responsibility.
BETTER FOR YOU AND THE PLANET
ZERO BAD STUFFMost mattresses are full of junk — plastic foams, toxic glues, harmful VOCs, and chemical flame retardants. Not ours. We use natural, nontoxic materials. We even harvest our latex and our wool from our own sustainable farms. This ensures the highest purity and quality. These materials, including our cotton, are all organic and nontoxic. And we can prove it. Our Latex Mattress is GREENGUARD Gold, GOTS organic, and Formaldehyde-Free certified. Our cotton and wool are GOTS Organic Certified, Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®, and USDA Organic. And our latex is GOLS Organic, Standard 100 OEKO-TEX®, eco-INSTITUT®, USDA Organic, Rainforest Alliance, and FSC® certified.
CERTIFIED SAFEOur Avocado Latex Mattress is certified to be safe. We use the most rigorous third-party testing to ensure no materials are known or suspected to harm human health, animals, aquatic life, or ecosystems. This means no flame retardants, anywhere in the mattress.

Comfort and Feel
Our Latex Mattress rates as an 7.5 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm. It’s our firmest mattress. (For comparison, our standard Avocado Green or Vegan Mattress rates as a 7, while our pillow-top mattress rates as a 6.) Our latex mattress ideal for active couples, back or stomach sleepers, or large/tall combinations sleepers. It provides even distribution of body pressure. You tend to float on top of the latex mattress, rather than sink. Petite side sleepers may prefer our green or vegan hybrid mattresses.
100% GOLS Organic Certified Latex
We use Dunlop latex in our mattresses because it is more eco-conscious than Talalay latex, which requires more processing. We make our own GOLS organic certified latex from co-owned farmer's societies in India, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. It's made with ≥95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, requires no adhesives to seam it together, and is more durable than Talalay latex. It is processed in a GOLS organic certified facility in India that we also co-own. On our Avocado Latex Mattress, we use three seamless layers of organic latex — 2 inches Contoured Latex in the top comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft), 3 inches (D75) in the middle, and 4 inches (D85) at the base. We do not use blended or synthetic latex and there are no seams to break down over time, and no chemical adhesives are used to bind the layers, since our mattress is needle tufted by hand. Plus, our GOLS organic certified latex has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.79546, Hohenstein HTTI) — which requires annual lab testing to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides and dyes. To be extra thorough, our latex is even eco-INSTITUT certified, a certification for products fulfilling the strictest requirements on pollutants and emissions following the latest state of the art of international research and science.
100% GOTS Organic Certified Wool
The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as yet another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body and soft support characteristics. And it’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. At Avocado, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped 100% GOTS organic certified wool (1 ounce per square foot) under the 100% organic certified cotton ticking in every mattress. We do not blend any rayon, polyester or flame retarding chemicals with our wool. Our organic wool has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI) — which requires annual lab testing to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides and dyes. 100% GOTS Organic Cotton
For a luxurious and premium finish, we use 100% GOTS organic certified cotton in a soft, natural color. We do not use polyester fiber. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile is needle-tufted by hand with organic cotton yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without the use of chemical or water-based chemical adhesives. Our organic cotton has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (15.HIN.75800, Hohenstein HTTI), to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides and dyes. Even the green thread used in the stitching and logo embroidery is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified (15.HIN.75800, Hohenstein HTTI). Reinforced edge seams are double stitched and four heavy-duty upholstered handles complete the package.
No Flame Retardants
We do not use any kind of flame retardants. Our Latex Mattress uses only 100% GOTS organic certified wool, which is naturally fire resistant. This wool has also been tested for harmful substances and meets Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI). View Our Open Flame Test Results

Unboxing Your Mattress
Unboxing your mattress is easy, but it can be heavy. Be sure to recycle all packaging materials.
A law label is a legally required tag or label on new mattresses that describes the interior filling materials. Few companies will share this information prior to your purchase because it separates fact from marketing hype. We believe differently. Here's what the legal tag on the Avocado Latex Mattress actually says: Made in California with internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Natural Latex (91%), Natural Wool Fiber (9%), plus a 100% Organic Cotton Cover. Note: NO polyurethane foams, NO memory foams, NO synthetic foams, NO latex blends, NO chemical adhesives between the comfort layers, and NO chemical flame retardants are used!
25-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Avocado Latex Mattresses are backed by one of the industry's best warranties — 25 years! The first 10 years offer non-prorated protection (full replacement value and shipping costs), while years 11-25 continue with prorated protection.
