GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU863637) in a soft, natural color blended with 3% elastane for functional stretch and enhanced durability—fully compliant with GOTS standards. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile provides an ideal exterior to our Pure Talalay Luxury Pillow. Our organic cotton has received STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certification (15.HIN.75800, Hohenstein HTTI) to screen for harmful substances that are present as a result of processing, including banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides, and dyes.

TALALAY MANUFACTURING

Pure Talalay latex is made in Connecticut through a meticulous, multi-step process that ensures a breathable, consistent, and supportive material. It begins with formulating imported FSC® certified liquid latex and blending it with raw materials to achieve the perfect consistency. The latex mixture is then aerated and injected into a specially designed aluminum pincore mold, initiating Talalay’s unique, open-cell structure. Next, a vacuum is applied to the sealed mold, ensuring the latex fills the cavity evenly, creating uniform consistency and firmness.

In a step unique to the Pure Talalay process, the latex is flash-frozen at -22°F (-30°C), which prevents particle settling and locks in the material’s distinctive cell structure. After freezing, the latex is heated to 220°F (104°C) to transform it from a liquid to a solid state. Following this, each latex core undergoes a thorough five-stage washing process to remove residual soaps or curing agents, ensuring a clean, non-toxic product. Finally, the latex is dried to remove any remaining moisture and complete the curing process, resulting in a supportive, resilient material.

To ensure each product meets strict quality standards, every piece undergoes a nine-point firmness consistency test and an infrared technology scan. This intricate process produces Pure Talalay latex, renowned for its breathability, consistency, and unmatched comfort, making it an ideal choice for luxury pillows!

CARE

Spot clean your cotton cover in cold water with an eco-friendly laundry detergent. Lay flat or hang to dry. Do not use bleach. Allow to dry completely before putting the cover back on your pillow. To keep your pillow fresh and extend its lifespan, we recommend pairing it with our Organic Cotton Pillow Protector or Organic Waterproof Pillow Protector for added protection and easy maintenance.

Talalay latex is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen before vulcanization, creating a consistent open-cell structure that feels lighter, softer, and more buoyant. Dunlop latex is poured and steam-baked, producing a denser, firmer material. The Pure Talalay Pillow uses FSC-certified Talalay latex processed in Shelton, Connecticut. The Pure Talalay latex is processed at a facility in Shelton, Connecticut, that holds FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for responsible forest management and traceability. GOLS certification requires specific organic processing conditions at the facility level. The distinction reflects current manufacturing constraints at the Talalay processing facility, not a limitation of the Talalay process itself. The latex is sourced from responsibly managed forests in Asia, and the finished pillow is GOTS certified organic at the product level. FSC and GOLS are both third-party verified standards with different scopes: FSC tracks responsible sourcing and chain of custody, GOLS certifies organic content at 95% or above.

The organic cotton cover is removable and machine washable. The Talalay latex core should not be machine washed. Spot clean the core as needed and allow it to air dry completely before replacing the cover. Adding an organic pillow protector extends the life of the pillow and keeps the cover cleaner between washes.
