UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY, EXTRAORDINARY BEAUTY, UNPARALLELED SUSTAINABILITY
Our Malibu Wood Dresser is uncompromising. We use FSC®-certified maple or walnut and matte-gold handles to build the four-drawer dresser. The natural patina of the solid wood delivers a warm, elegant beauty. The hardwood is also incredibly durable, eco-friendly, and resilient. Our craftsmanship includes soft-close drawers and dovetail joints that provide exceptional quality and strength. We build it all in our facility in Los Angeles, where we marry traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. No nasty, VOC-emitting (volatile organic compound) glues or finishes — we build the Malibu Dresser with the sustainability mission powering Avocado Green Brands at its forefront. The shop’s FSC® certification validates that we meet the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. Free delivery and in-home setup included.
PURE, 100% FSC-CERTIFIED MAPLE OR WALNUT
Because of their abundance and shorter life span, maple and walnut are some of the most sustainable timbers. They are also hardwoods, so they're extremely durable and long-lasting. And unlike many furniture companies that use particle board, veneers, or synthetic laminates, at Avocado, we individually handcraft all our furniture with solid, FSC®-certified wood. We believe in letting the rich character of the wood speak for itself. This way, every piece is original, with its own slight variations. It costs a little more to do things this way. But our customers love having unique, durable, thoughtfully crafted furniture that will last generations.
MADE IN LA WITH REMARKABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP
We consider every detail in the Malibu Wood Dresser. From the high-quality birchwood soft-close drawers to the dovetail joints that add durability and strength, our sturdy, real wood dresser is both elegant and exceptionally well-made — a true heirloom that will last generations. We don’t mass produce these dressers — they’re artisanally made to order for you in our FSC®-certified shop in Los Angeles.
COMPLETE THE SET WITH OUR MALIBU BED FRAME AND NIGHTSTAND
Complete your bedroom with our matching Malibu Platform Bed Frame and Malibu Wood Nightstand. Like the dresser, we craft the bed frame and nightstand in Los Angeles with sustainably harvested timber that will light up the room. Their elegance and exceptional craftsmanship are unmatched.
NATURAL & NON-TOXIC
Furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution. Many are toxic and emit VOCs. In fact, the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and particle board commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens such as Urea-formaldehyde or Phenol-formaldehyde. Our Malibu Wood Dresser is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by UL Environment. That means the dresser is scientifically proven to meet some of the world's most rigorous, third-party emissions standards for chemical exposure and pollutants, such as VOCs, formaldehyde, and phthalates.
A CARBON NEGATIVE PRODUCT
Avocado is a certified B Corp and a carbon negative business. That means we voluntarily offset more than 100% of our emissions, from resource extraction all the way to shipping, by supporting carbon offset projects through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. Our offset projects help mitigate climate change and support innovation in addressing greenhouse gas emissions reductions. We also power 100% of our factory with renewable energy sources.
BIODEGRADABLE & ZERO WASTE
We believe in a circular economy that accounts for the life cycle of our products. That’s one reason we always use natural, biodegradable materials. What’s more, our GOTS certified California factory, which we power entirely with renewable energy, is on its way toward a Zero-Waste certification, meaning almost nothing gets thrown away. We recycle or upcycle all our material byproducts. The effort is consistent with our mission to set a new bar in environmental and social responsibility.

Solid Wood Construction
Wood: 100% Solid Maple or 100% Solid Walnut
Origin: Made in Los Angeles, California
We do not use traditional lacquers or varnishes, which typically contain harsh chemicals and have strong fumes that can cause headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Instead, our bed frames use a zero-VOC ECOS® WoodShield stain, which is organic, non-toxic, and odor-free. It conforms to CDPH 01350 (VOC emissions test taken at 11, 12, & 14 days for classroom and office use), as well ASTM D4236, specifically concerning oral toxicity, skin irritation, and respiratory effects.
Safe, Odorless Glues
Our assembly utilizes Titebond® wood glues, which are safe and produce no harmful fumes. They meet the requirements of ASTM D4236 for safe use with arts and crafts and have both been approved for indirect food contact.

- California Residents
We operate an FSC®-certified woodshop — in a facility completely separate from our mattress factory, in Los Angeles — which produces wood dust. Read California's required Proposition 65 warning for wood dust.
